you know.... That skin to skin, his arms were locked around me, our legs were intertwined. I felt like we were melting like candle wax, like our bones were mixing together.
THAT unexplainable feeling of oneness when you love someone & you look at them sleeping, super stoked to be in that moment.
& reflecting on that silly societal construct of wanting someone to be "yours". I still don't know what that means. You know how you feel you want that with someone right?
I heard the chorus in my mind,
Drove for 4 hours, figured out the rest of the lyrics, wrote the song.
Special stuff! Yay love. Yay vulnerable songwriting!
lyrics
"Look into my eyes
Squeeze my legs
Bruise my thighs
Cause, That mark is evidence
That in a fragment of time
You weren't a figment of my mind
Don’t ask me to explain
Skin to skin
Your arms locked around me
Our legs are intertwined
We melt like candle wax
Can you feel our marrows mix?
I'm talking about “this”
I'm talking about “this”
If I die before i wake
Your scent can’t be undone
I have tasted Imperfect perfection
There is no comparison
I'm sure that this is fate, this is no mistake
Butterfly flutters like earthquakes
Don’t ask me to explain
Skin to skin
Your arms locked around me
Our legs are intertwined
We melt like candle wax
Can you feel our marrows mix?
I'm talking about “this”
I'm talking about “this”
Will I ever
Call you mine?
You have drawn the line...
Cause, you’re against that paradigm
Will this go on forever?
can’t think of anyone better....
This love could move mountains
Bend time and space
Don’t ask me to explain
Don’t ask me to explain
Skin to skin
Your arms locked around me
Our legs are intertwined
We melt like candle wax
Can you feel our marrows mix?
I'm talking about “this”
I'm talking about “this”
I'm talking about “this” "
